Aims of the course:

To acquaint students with the content and tasks of strategy and strategic management. To emphasize the specific features of strategic management and the principles of strategic thinking. To accentuate the need for uniqueness of strategy as the basis for competitiveness. To highlight the necessity of actively shaping demand. To stress the policy maker role of the personality and of the working team. Provide views on the development of the world and the basic development trends. Apply this knowledge to the corporate sector.

Course contents:

  1. Introduction to the concept of strategy. Strategic thinking, missioning and visioning.
  2. Content dimension of the strategy: Business level strategy, Corporate level strategy, Network level strategy
  3. Process dimension of the strategy: Strategy formation, Strategic change, Strategic innovation
  4. Context dimension of the strategy: Industry context, Organizational context, International context
  5. Case studies
